Your Bio

Here is a little about the man behind the camera.

I picked up on the family hobby of photography from my grandfather when I was 3 years old. A camera has been part of my life ever since in one way or another. Before I was finished with High School I was doing senior pictures for my classmates. From there I worked as a photojournalist, & track photographer for the local speedway. On top of weddings & special events. (all that was in the "film days").

After ten years & a different career path I'm now returning to what I enjoy as part of how I earn my living. The power to motivate / inspire people is one facet I enjoy about photography. Working in security is not a very personally rewarding career path. At the end of the day you have nothing to show for risking your own safety & watching out for others. Most of the time the best you can say "well, the building is still there" at the end of a shift. Because it is our job to enforce the rules we piss off customers / employees just by doing what we are paid to do. Photography at this point does not pay as well as security but it sure as hell makes me feel like a better person at the end of the day (or night in my case). I'm much happier & safer with my camera than any rent-a-cop job with any of that equipment. Most notably is how the public reacts to my presence. In uniform I am ostracized, ignored, or targeted with camera I am welcomed. Funny how the power of the camera works.

I enjoy event photography & working with live performers. Infact, if I am not taking my camera to a event it takes almost all the fun out of attending for me. Product & catalog photography are fields I also find rewarding. Weddings I typically shoot just for friends & family. I dont market myself as a portrait photographer but do shoot portraits for friends & referals.

In Janruary I upgraded my camera from a Nikon D100 (circa 2002) to the 4th best model Nikon currently makes, the D300. Oh Wow what a machine!! I am a die-hard "Nikonian" after useing their equipment since high school.

Please browse through my images as I will be adding to them regularly. If you have a need for a photographer please give me some details of what you have in mind. Feel free to leave any comments on images or ask questions. If you have a need for any commercial / stock style images let me know what you are after & I will be watchful for the subject matter you request. All photography is custom work. So any fees / prices are proportionate to what you request.
